PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This program showcases the lesser-known, authentic side of the northern shore of Lake Balaton: volcanic hills, excellent wines, active relaxation, and local flavors.

Day 1 – Arrival in Badacsony

Departure from Budapest in the early afternoon.

Arrival in Badacsony in the late afternoon.

Check-in at the accommodation in Badacsony.
A charming accommodation in Badacsony, offering beautiful views of the surrounding vineyards and Lake Balaton. Guests can enjoy a relaxing stay with comfortable rooms and a peaceful atmosphere.

Dinner at the guesthouse.

Free evening: relaxation, stroll around the village, visit the beach.

Day 2 – Szent György Hill & Wine Experiences

Breakfast at the accommodation and packing a lunch box, then departure to one of the Badacsony wine region’s most unique natural attractions, Szent György Hill.

Szent György Hill Hike

Szent György Hill is one of the iconic “witness hills” of the Balaton Uplands, famous for its stunning natural formations. The basalt organ pipes on the hill are remnants of volcanic activity millions of years ago: as lava flows cooled, they formed regular, column-like structures that remain a spectacular sight today.

The hike offers panoramic views of Lake Balaton and the surrounding vineyards.

Packed sandwich lunch with local ingredients during the hike.

Afternoon free: swimming, ice cream, walking among the vineyards of Badacsony.

Late afternoon wine program – Váli Winery

Visit the Váli Winery, a leading Hungarian winemaking estate. This is a true gastronomic journey where guests can taste 8–9 carefully selected Váli wines accompanied by perfectly paired dishes.

Day 3 – Cycling Among Volcanoes & Free Afternoon

After breakfast, departure for a scenic cycling experience.

E-bike Tour Among the Volcanoes

An easy-to-complete yet spectacular cycling tour among Lake Balaton’s iconic extinct volcanoes. While riding between the witness hills, guests will learn about the history of the ancient volcanoes and discover whether there is any chance they could erupt again, as they did three and a half million years ago.

We start directly from the village with e-bikes, cycling in the magical landscape of the Witness Hills.

Free afternoon by Lake Balaton

After the cycling tour, the afternoon is free for relaxation and water-based activities:

Swimming and beach time
Stand-up paddling (SUP)
Rowing or light paddling on the lake
Relaxation by the shore

Evening at leisure.

Day 4 – Tihany Peninsula: Lavender & Free Time

After breakfast and check-out, departure to the Tihany Peninsula.

Lavender Distillery Visit

Visit a family-run artisan lavender distillery.

Insight into daily lavender processing
Tasting of lavender syrups, teas, and handmade sweets

Afternoon free in Tihany

Stroll through Tihany’s charming streets
Visit the Abbey
Swimming or tasting Balaton-style fried dough (“lángos”)

Return to Budapest in the late afternoon.
