Day 1 – Arrival in Budapest & Danube Magic

Our adventure begins in Hungary’s captivating capital. After arrival and a comfortable airport transfer, we set out on a guided walking tour of Budapest’s historic city centre. Highlights include the elegant Danube Promenade, lively Váci Street and iconic landmarks such as St. Stephen’s Basilica, with panoramic views towards Buda Castle and Gellért Hill. In the evening, Budapest reveals its most romantic face during a 1-hour Danube River Cruise. Illuminated bridges, the Parliament and the Castle District create an unforgettable backdrop.

Dinner is served at a charming Budapest wine bar. Afterwards, guests may optionally continue the evening exploring Budapest’s authentic local bar scene.

Discover the city’s intimate, atmospheric bars such as Zsivágó, Macska and Cintányéros, where vintage interiors, quiet jazz and bohemian crowds reveal Budapest’s creative soul.

Day 2 – Into Nature: Orfű & the Mecsek Hills

Leaving Budapest behind, we travel south by private transfer to Orfű, a peaceful lake region nestled in the forests of the Mecsek Mountains. After check-in at a family-run eco-friendly guesthouse, we immerse ourselves in the surrounding nature.

The day begins with a guided wild plant foraging walk led by a local expert. We explore meadows and forest paths while learning about the Mecsek ecosystem, edible plants, medicinal herbs and sustainable gathering traditions.

This experience continues with a hands-on farm-to-fork lunch workshop. Together with a local chef, we prepare a seasonal meal using wild plants, herbs, mushrooms and berries, complemented by ingredients from small-scale local producers. Edible flowers and zero-waste principles define the dishes.

After lunch, enjoy free time to relax by the Orfű lakes or wander through the guesthouse gardens.

The day concludes with a relaxed countryside dinner, accompanied by a regional wine tasting or non-alcoholic herbal drink experience.

Day 3 – Lake Adventures & UNESCO City of Pécs

The morning starts with a guided SUP tour across the calm lake waters, surrounded by lush forested hills. Later, we travel to Pécs, the cultural heart of Southern Hungary. After lunch at a local restaurant, a guided walking tour introduces the city’s rich heritage:

Early Christian Necropolis – UNESCO World Heritage Site
Pécs Cathedral
Ottoman-era mosques and historic monuments
Zsolnay Cultural Quarter, showcasing world-famous ceramics, elegant villas and traditional craftsmanship

In the late afternoon, we return to Budapest for our final overnight stay.

Day 4 – Budapest Highlights & Departure

After breakfast, we enjoy a half-day guided Grand City Tour of Budapest, covering highlights such as:

The afternoon is free for individual exploration — thermal baths, museums or a final coffee along the Danube.

Late afternoon transfer to the airport.
